Poplar Grove is presenting an evening to perchance be visited by the spirits along a lighted pathway. Haunts, or haunts, of all ages from 1850 through the 20th century continue to hover in and around the Manor House, Tenant House, graveyard and grounds. Deceased members of the Foy family still make their presence known in particular rooms of the house, and there are lots of stories to share of how they have introduced themselves over the years. The former slaves and tenant farmers are no less evident than the trees silhouetting the night sky. A Scroll of the Dead will be provided that includes the names of family members who have passed on in the house.
2022 Autumn with Topsail Festival

Started in 1988, The Autumn With Topsail Festival is held on the grounds of the Historical Society of Topsail Island and the Assembly Building which houses the Missiles & More Museum in Topsail Beach, NC. The festival features a highly selective Artists’ and Crafts Court with over 110 regional artists displaying and selling their work. Enjoy exciting live musical entertainment, a variety of amazing food with beer and wine, inflatables and crafts for children, and much more!

The Non-Runners Run 2022

On Saturday October 15th 2022, Operation Military Kids Club (OMKC) will be hosting the 4th annual Non-Runners Run: A Race for The Underachiever.
This race is a half mile in distance with a donut/water stop at the half way mark. All registered participants 21 and over will receive a ticket for a free beer at the Salty Turtle at the end of the race. Root beer will be provided for those 20 and under. The course starts at 10:00am at Faith Harbor United Methodist Church (14201 NC Hwy 50 Surf City, NC 28445) and ends at The Salty Turtle (103 Triton Lane Surf City, NC 28445). All participants (18 years and older) that are registered by Oct 5th will receive a Non-Runners Run t-shirt. If your registered child/ren would like an adult size t-shirt (XS, S, M, L) please email nonrunnersrun@gmail.com with your name and the sizes you would like.
Cost is: $28 for ages 18 and older $10 for ages 5-17 Under 5 is FREE

Night of Elegance Adult prom
Did you miss going to your prom or just want an excuse to dress up and dance the night away? Join us for a fun Night of Elegance Adult Prom, a tie and gown event for ages 25 and over. Hosted by Mitchell Locklear. Live DJ music, free hors d'oeuvres, refreshments, and door prizes, are included as well as crowning of prom King and Queen.
